II. Several Poems & Songs
The Land of a Million Compromises

When in the troughs
of light slinking through the trees, I am lulled into a sense that this could go on forever.
The highway and its unending
flow of cars like a stream in spate taking everything along with it.

I am shocked again
into light, into the particles of
screen bending & warping the space behind them, through the all night parking lot
through Silone's thighs, thick
with cellulite, to the billboard that shows
a close-up of a hamburger
as if it were a religious artifact, and I
believe. I believe in the hamburger, in its marbled meat and toasted brioche, in its sweet
ketchup & mustard.
I believe in the all-night wind,
in the cigarettes
I will smoke later on the balcony.

I believe in what Robert Musil called "the impotence
of being powerful" and I am powerless
before this power, before these things
that keep me.

Second person perspective.
●● You can map entire farms anywhere in the world including locations such as Africa. That part is illegal? First find out who owns Africa.
These kinds of modules are commonly used by farmers, teleoperating large vehicles, cattle fences, herders × ●● Then start looking for landmarks, agricultural buildings, roads, water towers, airports, desert oases, tribal hamlets, mosques, churches, pipelines, safari camps, livestock pens, wealth distribution polls, climate models, power plants. No interest in farming? Zoom past! ■•■ Navigate Through Any Scenery!
